Our next campground was Topsail Hill Preserve State Park on the Florida panhandle. What gorgeous white sand beach with teal water!!! Unfortunately, the weather was chilly and overcast and the no swimming flag was up. We had a nice walk along the beach looking for shells and pieces of coral and watching the terns scurry about. Of course we had to wade a little in the Gulf of Mexico too π
The preserve is over 1,600 acres and is home to several unique ecosystems: freshwater coastal dune lakes. The young long leaf pines along the nature trails reminded me of something straight out of The Lorax.
We will 100% be returning for a longer stay!
