Saturday morning we left Lake Meade National Recreation Area and drove a little over 1/2 hour to Las Vegas. We had a room booked at a hotel/casino outside of The Strip. The South Point Casino is more our speed with a laid back “old Vegas” feel. It’s a quieter local crowd that frequents and has a dedicated Race Book (which is sadly and quickly being overtaken by professional sports betting in most casinos), a spa, a bowling alley, a horse arena (many horse competitions throughout the year!), 11 restaurants and a fabulous pool area. And… it was a super reasonable rate! I might be partial to this place though, as I won $400!
Instead of driving through the craziness that is the Vegas Strip on a Saturday, we got an Uber to Fremont St. I hate to admit this, but I had to duck into a casino to get away from the noise and people. Wow I’m not sure if Vegas has changed since 2001 or I have…probably both! Very much! It was awesome to see though!
