It’s been a few days since posting last and we’ve both been pretty busy.
Saturday, we went back up to Lake Havasu to prep our new camper for moving and had lunch in Parker. It’s right on the CA border, so we thought…why not!? And drove over for a short cruise. It must be the donkey corridor because there were signs and poop everywhere! I was disappointed we didn’t see any live donkeys though.
On Sunday , we checked into an Airbnb in Scottsdale and rented a car for a couple days. The drive from South Phoenix to Scottsdale in the rental was white-knuckle for me on a four and up to six-lane busy highway. Lad drove the van.
We arrived at a beautiful little studio casita with lovely landscaping. While I worked the next two days, Lad drove down to the Barrett Jackson auction. After checking out on Wednesday, we saw a group of five coyote in the semi-residential neighborhood we were staying at. Yes it borders the open desert, but was still such a sight to us to observe them in people’s driveways in the middle of the day! They would never just scavenge around like that so close in packs in Vermont!
Wednesday (last night) we stayed on BLM land just up from Bouse. Wow! Our favorite boondocking spot so far! Gorgeous 360° views up in higher elevation where we could look down into Bouse. We went for a nice short walk at lunchtime through the wash there and it was hard to decide if I should be looking up at the mountains or down at all the pretty rocks!
We are in Kingman tonight and will stay at Boulder Beach on Lake Meade tomorrow. This weekend… Vegas!
